Spondo gains rights to The Duel - Golf Live StreamGolf’s Showdown of the Century between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

Melbourne, Australia – 23nd October 2012 – Spondo, a premier online paid video content syndication platform announced today that it has succeeded in capturing coverage of golf’s biggest Chinese event featuring head-to-head match play between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Spondo, an innovative start-up provides a proprietary platform for publishers to syndicate their content across a wide range of websites and devices. This service creates additional revenue opportunities for both parties as well as empowering a much larger audience to view the content online via affiliate networks and their communities.

The one-day event at Lake Jin Sha International Golf Club in Beijing, China between the Northern Irish PGA Champion Rory McIlroy and the world’s most famous golfer, Tiger Woods, will be streamed live via Spondo’s technology and its distribution partners the News Digital network and Golf.com.au.  Spondo is powering all broadcast of the event which can only be seen (outside of China) online.  Viewers who wish to watch the event can sign up at: www.news.com.au, www.heraldsun.com.au, www.dailytelegraph.com.au, www.couriermail.com.au, www.adlaidenow.com.au and www.perthnow.com.au.  More outlets will be announced this week.

Spondo Founder and CEO, Geoff Collinson, stated “This will be one of the year’s highlight events in the world of golf. The current World #1 and #2, playing in this format for the first time in the history of world rankings is something not to be missed.”  Mr. Collinson added, “We and our partners at www.golf.com.au are delighted to have secured the rights to such a prominent sporting event.”

Spondo and Golf.com.au were able to put together this deal in a matter of days because of the “plug-and-play” syndication technology and revenue distribution capabilities of the Spondo platform.  Add to this a business model which provides content owners a 50% share of the revenues while affiliates and Spondo receive 25% each and the company is poised to scale with speed and strength.

Spondo has already attracted great interest from leading international content publishers as a way to monetize their titles and libraries into vast networks and communities that patronise charities, small businesses, clubs and schools.  The company has signed deals with major content publishers to launch martial arts, children’s and other genres in the coming weeks.

I’ve always looked up to Tiger Woods. What he’s achieved in the game is remarkable.
Woods has won three times this year and earned his 100th career worldwide victory, managing to find the form that has propelled him back up the world rankings.
Personally, I believe he is pretty close to his best, and if he can beat world #1, Rory McIlroy, then he is certainly making a step in the right direction. Its going to be interesting.
    Unfortuantely, its not being televised
so if you don’t have chance to be there, you can watch online via Spondo at golf.com.au and http://www.couriermail.com.au
